Environmental Awareness - Dive Center Thailand
Since we live to show people the wonders of our seas, we feel that it is crucial that we take responsibility for how we interact with that environment. This includes minimizing wear and tear of these fragile environments, but also educating ourselves and our customers about how we can be part of the solution rather than part of the problem.
A natural step for Kon-Tiki Thailand, was to become a Project AWARE - GoEco Operator in 2006 and this has led to a number of initiatives being implemented so far.
Our contribution to a better marine environment, got the final official recognizion in 2008, when we won the PADI/Project AWARE Marine Environment Award, in front of more than 1000 dive centers across the Asia Pacific region. Untill this date, Kon-Tiki Diving & Snorkeling Center, is the only dive center in Thailand, who has won the prestigious award. Down below, you'll find a list of our project, that we have done so far.
- International Clean Up Day 2006.
- The Kon-Tiki Fish Night 2006
- Fundraising and donations.
