The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), provides a professional learning experience in which you will learn how to teach diving skills within the PADI system. You learn the technique of classroom and lecture presentations, confined and open water tuition and the use of the PADI teaching aids, such as video, CD-Roms and manuals. Our PADI Course Director, Claes Gosvig is from Denmark and speaks several languages include Danish (mother tongue), Swedish, Norwegian, English, French and German. He has been living in Thailand for more than 12 years and is now living in Phuket after many years on Koh Tao. On Koh Tao, Claes Gosvig was a very succesful PADI CD doing PADI IDC's in Koh Tao with some of the biggest and most respected dive centers in the world.

The PADI IDC begins with independent learning and encompasses both the Assistant Instructor (AI) course, and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program. In total you get 2 days PADI prep-course free of charge and 9 intensive days of training during you PADI IDC Thailand before attending you PADI IE. If you need more preparation prior to your PADI IDC, just let us know. Each PADI IE is follow by intencive PADI Specialty training by Claes Gosvig. In the unlikely event you doesn't pass your PADI IE, we give you a new PADI IDC and PADI IE free of charge.

Before you decide to enroll in your PADI IDC Thailand

Before you enroll in your PADI IDC Thailand program, you need to fullfil some prerequisite. Please be sure that you fullfil all of them. If you are not a PADI Divemaster yet, you can do your course here at Kon-Tiki Thailand Diving Center or you can enroll in our "Diving Career Thailand".

Don't forget, when entering Thailand you'll get a 30 days tourist visa. If you plan to stay longer, please contact us for further details. You often have the possibility to obtain an Educational visa from your Thai embassy in your home country. Please also make sure you have all required PADI materials. If not, you can purchase them at deducted prices from Kon-Tiki Thailand Diving Centers in Phuket, Khao Lak, Krabi and Koh Lanta. Please make sure you fullfil the following prerequisite;

• Be a PADI Divemaster/PADI Assistant Instructor or hold a leadership certification from another training agency.
• Submit a medical exam signed by a physician, not older then 12 months.
• Have 60 logged dives prior to the start of your PADI AI or PADI IDC program (100 prior to the PADI Instructor Examination) . 
• Submit proof of CPR/First Aid training within the last 24 months. An update can be done, prior to the start of your PADI IDC Thailand.
