The Similan Islands have repeatedly been named as one of the top 10 dive destinations in the world by scuba divers and dive magazines alike. Located in the Andaman Sea off the west coast of Thailand, this national marine park offers a wide range of aquatic life and diverse topography to suit just about any taste in scuba diving and snorkeling. The Similans consist of nine beautiful islands, are home to several hundred species of coral as well as marine life ranging from macro species such as seahorses and nudibranchs over octopus and turtles to big pelagics like reef sharks, manta rays and whalesharks. Just north of the Similans you'll find more amazing sites such as Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock and the Surin Islands. These sites offer more great snorkeling and diving with sheer walls, drop-offs and stunning colours combined with corals galore and several species of sharks and rays. |
